Welcome to Paul Hayes Folk web site, thanks for visiting. I am a singer/songwriter living in the beautiful Preseli hills in Pembrokeshire. My music is a mix of traditional folk songs, with my own interpretation and self penned songs written with a traditional feel.
As a teenager I played with a number of local folk groups in and around my home town of Middleton, near Manchester. I played banjo and there weren’t many banjo players so I could usually get a gig!!! I spent the 70’s/80’s/90’s working at a ‘proper’ job but, music and writing songs was always part of my life. Since November 2007 I have enjoyed writing, playing, performing and recording my music.
It was on a cold wet wintery morning when I came into the world in 1956, at my parent’s house in north Manchester. There was always music in the house and my thanks go to Miss Whalley for pianoforte and oral culture tuition (she had loads of cats). Also thanks to Wally Worthington for making/playing music at our house every Wednesday evening for as long as I can remember during the 1960’s and early 70’s.
Thanks again for visiting my web site and I hope you enjoy listening to my songs. If you would like more information please see the contact page. Good luck with whatever you wish for and I hope to meet some of you sometime in the future.
Take care. Paul.
